Are you interested in donating your archival material?

The Louis Riel Institute Archives and Special Collections preserves and shares the rich history, culture, and lived experiences of Red River Métis people across Manitoba and the wider Homeland. Our holdings include organizational records as well as personal documents, photographs, audiovisual material and maps that reflect Métis life past and present.

As one of the only archival institutions in the province dedicated specifically to the acquisition and stewardship of Métis materials, the Louis Riel Institute Archives and Special Collections is committed to ensuring that Red River Métis voices, stories, and knowledge are preserved for future generations. If you have records, documents, or family materials that may contribute to the history of the Red River Métis people in Manitoba and Western Canada, we invite you to consider donating them to our archives.
