The Louis Riel Institute (“LRI”, “we”, “us”, and “our”) plays an important role in supporting a greater understanding and appreciation of the culture, heritage, and history of the Red River Métis. As part of this role, our online archives website at lriarchives.ca (the “Website”) was developed to facilitate access and awareness of our research, archives, and collections. Images, text, audio and/or video appearing on and made available through the Website (the “Content”) have been generously and thoughtfully provided by community members, families, organizations, academics, and educational institutions. We own the copyright in the majority of the Content; however, we may not own the copyright over certain Content that has been provided by contributing institutions, organizations, or individuals, which is being licensed or used with permission by LRI. The copyright in the Content not owned by LRI remains with the contributor.
The Content is identified with separate categories on the Website. Content expressly identified under the “educational resources” category is available for your use under public license pursuant to the Creative Commons Attribution-Non-Commercial-No Derivatives 4.0 International License (please visit creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/ for more information). Content in the “educational resources” category are still original works of authorship and are subject to copyright. By using any Content in the “educational resources” category, you agree to comply with the following terms:
